China's new generation of athletes deserved a platform built for them. Nobody was building it. So we did.
THE ORIGIN
China produces world-class young athletes every single year. What it never had was a system for finding them: no national rankings, no published methodology, no scouting standard that treats a kid in a tier-3 city the same as a kid in Beijing. Talent was getting discovered by luck, connections, or not at all.
New Breed was founded in Shanghai to fix that. We spent over a decade inside elite player development, inside the NBA ecosystem, inside the programs that turn prospects into professionals, watching how the world's best talent systems work. Then we built one for China's next generation, from the ground up, by their rules.
WHAT WE ARE
New Breed is the voice of China's new generation of athletes. Rankings, stories, film, culture. The NB·X board is our proof of standard: China's first national youth rankings, U11 to U19, boys and girls, basketball first with football and combat sports rising. But the board is the receipt, not the whole story. The story is a generation getting seen.
WHAT WE STAND ON
THE INTEGRITY WALL
Rankings are never for sale. No player, parent, program, agent or sponsor can buy a spot, a rise, or protection from a drop. The methodology is published for anyone to read and challenge. Every update ships with what changed and why.
THE PROTECTION WALL
We rank minors, and we treat that as a responsibility. Guardian consent before featured coverage. Data minimization by design. Under-14 information handled as sensitive by law and by code. Communities moderated against ridicule of young players. This isn't fine print. It's architecture.
HOW IT WORKS
A scouting network across 28 provinces. Five evaluation dimensions: production, tools, skill & IQ, competition, projection. Independent scoring, then NB·X Evaluation Committee consensus. Over 12 years in elite player development across the NBA ecosystem: NBA, NBA G League, NBA Academy and USA Basketball programs. Wayne has spent his career inside the systems that identify and build professional talent, working across FIBA competition, CBA-connected players and China's top homegrown prospects. New Breed is that experience, rebuilt as infrastructure for China's next generation.
THE NB·X EVALUATION COMMITTEE
Wayne doesn't rank alone. Alongside him sit five additional experts in player evaluation and development, together forming the NB·X Evaluation Committee. Every ranking requires committee consensus, so no player's standing ever rests on a single opinion. The committee also governs our proprietary AI evaluation system: the software generates the readings, the committee verifies, calibrates and holds the final word. No single voice, human or machine, decides a ranking.
Committee members are not publicly named. That's deliberate: evaluators who can't be lobbied can't be bought.
