Across China, our committee of scouts, evaluators, coaches, and analysts spend the year studying the country's next generation of basketball talent — from nationally recognized prospects to emerging players quietly putting in the work. Every evaluation is built on one question:

These rankings aren't built on a single tournament, a viral highlight, or one standout weekend. They are built on sustained performance, long-term projection, competitive impact, skill development, basketball IQ, character,and the trajectory of each athlete's journey.
Every ranking represents hundreds of hours spent evaluating games, reviewing film, studying player development, and traveling across the country in search of the athletes shaping the future of Chinese basketball.
How We Evaluate
Five dimensions. Every player. Every age.
Production
What they do in real games, against real competition, in their real role.
Tools
Size, length, frame, athleticism, and where the body is going, not just where it is.
Skill & IQ
The shooting, the handle, the footwork, the feel. The part you can't fake.
Competition
Who they did it against, and on what stage. Beating ranked peers moves you. Padding stats doesn't.
Projection
The honest read on the ceiling. This is the forecast, and we grade ourselves on it later.
Younger players are weighted toward tools and projection. Older players toward production and competition. Because a 12-year-old and an 18-year-old are not the same bet.
A Living System
The list will change. New names will rise.
The Future 50™ updates across the season, not once a year. Players rise. Players fall. Unknowns become elite on the strength of what they show on the floor. Every season is another opportunity to earn your place.

Each year, the NB·X Future 50™ also serves as the foundation for the NB·X Honors, our annual awards program announced during the Chinese New Year holiday. The season culminates with the recognition of China's most outstanding youth basketball players.

We publish our misses.
A ranking that never gets checked isn't a ranking, it's a guess. NB·X tracks every ranked player against what happens next: national teams, all-tournament honors, CUBAL, the pros, overseas and college pathways. When we're right, the record shows it. When we're wrong, we say so.
Most won't do that. We will.
Integrity
You cannot buy a spot.
Not with money. Not with followers. Not with a sponsor's name. Rankings are walled off from everything commercial. The only way onto the list is to be one of the best, and the only way up is to prove it.
